grrr.

i hate being the low gal on the totem pole. i know full well that there is an on-campus event this weekend but, as it always falls on the weekend preceding my birthday, and as I have never been asked to attend in past years, i made plans for the evening of the event.

just this morning i got an email from my boss, requesting that i attend. i was not being given an option. so now i have to rearrange/cancel my plans for that night, just to go to a stuffy dinner, schmooze with people i don’t know, and sit through a boring concert. actually, i’m sure the concert will be very nice. but still.
