ten days

but who’s counting, right? not i. no, sirree . . . okay, so i’m counting. though, if i’m counting things, then this post should actually be titled “eight days,” since that’s when the vermont contingent of my family will arrive. wahoo!

for as quickly as christmas will be upon us, i’m not at all stressed out. i don’t have my shopping done yet, but i know what i want to get for the remaining few on my list. i haven’t even started wrapping things yet. not that i haven’t intended to do so many a night this week. that’s what saturday will be for. yeah, saturday . . .

snow is falling for the third time in a week. as i am someone who was not always fond of winter weather — there is a reason i moved to florida once upon a time — i am surprised to find that the sight of snow is pleasing to me. watching it fall in big flakes while snuggled under a blanket in my living room gives me a sense of joy i wasn’t expecting this year. and it makes it seem all the more like christmas. after all, if it’s going to be twenty degrees, there should be snow on the ground, should there not?

here’s hoping it sticks around for at least ten more days.

the sense of joy you're unexpectedly experiencing this year couldn't have anything to do with the girlish blush you've been sporting on your cheeks the past few months, could it? ;)
