of flowers and friends

now that fall is half over, i finally found an autumn wreath to hang on our front door. thanks to the folks at the dried floral shop (.com, of course), this lovely arrangement now graces our entryway:


and while we're on the topic of gracing our entryway, my former college roommate katherine did the very same thing this past weekend. she was in town for her cousin's wedding and, while she could have spent two nights with her family in a hotel downtown, she asked if she could spend one of those nights at chez ann-marie (and david) so we could spend some time catching up. she didn't have to ask me twice!

her plane didn't arrive until 8:35 on friday night, so we stayed up until midnight talking about what we've been up to for the past year since we last saw one another. david was out enjoying guys' night, sparing him from any boring old-friend chatter. katherine is a friend with whom i can truly pick up where i left off last time, and it's always easy and fun. may it not be another whole year until we see each other again!
