how do you spell relief?

for me, it’s spelled “w-e-d-d-i-n-g-o-v-e-r.”

i don’t mean to imply that this past weekend wasn’t wonderful. it was. it’s just that so much goes into making sure everything goes off without a hitch, and a lot of details need to be looked after. it’s great fun, but it’s tiring. not to mention nerve-wracking, which i’m sure was the cause of this bridesmaid’s severe illness during the hour prior to the trip down the aisle. fortunately, by ten minutes into the ceremony i was feeling fine enough to enjoy it.

the ceremony was beautiful, and it all went according to plan. we had fun dancing at the reception and playing freeze-tag with some of the little bell-ringing boys. sadly, the bride wasn’t feeling well for a good portion of the reception, but she started to feel better toward the end and was fine by the time she got back to the hotel room at the end of the night.

in one instance, a nephew from the groom’s side leaned over to a little cousin on the bride’s side and said, “just so you know, this means we’re family now.” neither of them was more than eight years old. so cute!

and toward the end of the night a certain groomsman with whom i have a special friendship asked the wedding photographer for her contact information. i thought it incredibly tacky that he would ask her out right in front of me, but . . . ;)

now if i can just make it through the next few weeks of work-related weekend activities and on to memorial day weekend, i’ll be great.

happy honeymoon, mr. & mrs. vélez luce!

hope you were able to enjoy yourself despite the fact that you weren't feeling well earlier in the day and that we had you running around a lot. we appreciate all of your involvement over the past year and especially on the big day.
